Newell´s Old Boys vs Patronato ended 2-2 in the 6th round of la Liga Profesional
A game that had each team won a half, the first half belonged to Newell´s and in the 7th minute of play Velázquez won a header from the corner and sent the ball past the Patronato keeper and into the bottom corner of the net. After the goal the team of Sanguinetti had many chances to add to their lead and finally achieved the second goal when Ramiro Sordo scored from a low cross across the box from Francisco González.
In the second half Patronato came out with a changed attitude and a desire to take the game to Newell´s although Newell´s almost added a third goal, but did not manage to kill the game off and 9 minutes into the second half against the run of play Jonas Acevedo whipped in a dangerous ball that evaded all of the Newell's defenders and found the head of Sebastián Medina who put it past the keeper to pull a goal back for Pantronato. Although Newell´s had chances to win including a chance that scraped the post, it was a counter attack deep into injury time that levelled the score 2-2 with Raúl Lozano grabbing the late equalizer.
The next round of fixtures will see Newell´s play Platense, while Patronato will face Arsenal.
